IN SHORT THAT'S THE STORY OF THE PMA CLASS '58.
THEY CAME, THEY SAW,
THEY CONQUERED.
In the past 45 years after their graduation from the Philippine Military Academy, they were in the thick of it all: - - - when their country was besieged by various forces; when the Communist NPA were knocking at the door of Malacañan; when the secessionist movement reached its peak; when the economy was down and when in the midst of turmoil the government plunged into Martial Law; then the first EDSA People's Power toppled the Marcos administration, succeeding administrations were subjected with coups and counter coups d'etat. In all of these they served their country unflinchingly. In the world scene, three (3) saw actions in the Vietnam War and two (2) served as foreign military attache. They accomplished their mission above and beyond what was expected of them. Bereaved of their fallen comrades and Mistah's who paid the ultimate sacrifice, they are proud to look back that they have done their duty with "courage, loyalty, and integrity". Out of the 53 of them, considering early casualties and early retirements, 28 attained star ranks: 1 ViceAdmiral as Vice Chief of Staff, 4 MajGenerals as Major Service Commanders, 19 BrigGenerals, and 4 Commodores.
Now only 36 of the 53, in their civilian life, some are still in government service, a few are in their favorite hobby earning more money or do volunteer work, and of course, the rest are taking it easy spending the inheritance of their children and grandchildren -- shopping, playing golf, partying, world tours, etc. . etc.
"MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, WELL DONE!"
