Fred or "Feliz" always reminds us of that chubby amiable fellow in the Academy. "The kindest" said the Plebes,"but watch out if you ever teased him with gatas!". He was killed in line of duty by an NPA Sparrow Unit on May 3, 1998 in Davao City where he was the HDU Commander of GID and concurrent Commandant of Davao City University. This only shows the ever present danger we face as  soldiers. In this kind of war there are no distinct combat zones. Wherever we may be is the "frontline".
