Art or "Blankie" was a true Navyman. A Corps Squad swimmer, he coached the Navy Team. Many of his protege represented the Phil. in international swimming competition. But he, the Task Force Cmdr. in Manila area then, was no match to a hurricane force Typhoon that lashed his flagship, RPS Soliman, a DE off Manila Bay in 1981.
